HECTIC is a structured, science-based K-2 reading intervention program designed to help students master foundational literacy skills essential for fluent, confident reading. It follows the principles of the Science of Reading, which emphasizes evidence-based approaches for effective literacy instruction. HECTIC stands for High-Frequency words, Encoding & Decoding, Comprehension, Text Fluency, Integrated Vocabulary, and Contextual Application.
Each component works together to provide a comprehensive, engaging program that supports literacy growth from kindergarten through second grade.
